The Dalai Lama in Zurich 2010
Universal Responsibility and Economics
Hallenstadion, Zurich
The ongoing global financial crisis, and its effect on millions of people, shows clearly how important the ethical dimension plays in economic systems. The present financial crisis, which began in 2008, is a symptom that shows how vulnerable economic systems are to human corruption and greed.
In this public talk, the Dalai Lama will investigate how important personal and universal responsibilities are in economic systems. Can we develop an economic system as well as cultivate our lives in ways that reward altruism and compassion in order to solve actual problems in the areas of poverty and environment?
The public talk will be held in English, with German translation.
